classroom thefts

Nowadays I heard frequent complaints from students losing their personal belongings inside their school classroom - items lost are usually wallets containing items of value. It is disturbing that such incidents are on the rise. Taking away a person's wallet is considered THEFT and is a crimminal offence. Recently my grandson's wallet was stolen from his school desk while lesson is on. Inside the wallet were his week's allowance and an e -z link card just topped up. I had to spend time and extra costs to make a new ez link card. I wonder how the mrt personnel and bus drivers react when a person is using a concession card not belonging to him/her! Maybe they assume that students in uniform or youth are using concession cards correctly or they are not bothered at all as long as the card is scanned!!!
